In Orange class, the current class teacher is Mr Carney who is supported by the teaching assistant, Miss Odel. In orange class, we have four lessons a day, which include daily lessons of literacy and numeracy. We do our utmost to encourage positive, respectful relationships between staff and peers. We do this by completing team building activities weaved throughout the daily timetable. We attend forest school sessions once a week where we learn about the environment, create art projects, go on nature trails and most importantly have fun! Orange class also have two PE sessions per week, which promotes independence, communication, self-worth and healthy relationships. In orange class, we also promote independence to prepare them for their move up to secondary school. We do this by setting them targets that they can achieve throughout the day. We also encourage this by marking the pupils work with them to promote reflection and suggest ways of improving their work. During PSHE and circle time we have class discussions and talk about the future so that the pupils begin to prepare themselves for future jobs or career, we talk about skills and interests that could influence this.
