School Facilities

Maplefields Academy facilities for hire include a state of the art climbing wall, sports hall, floodlit astro (muga), primary hall (gymnasium), food tech room, light sensory room, extended area (meeting rooms), bistro and conference room.

Sports Hall

The four court Sports Hall is a large multi use space for indoor activities. The hall has court markings for 4 x Badminton Courts, 1 full size Basketball court with two cross court markings allowing for 2 half size courts. There are 6 basketball hoops in total, 2 of which can be adjusted for junior players. There is also a volleyball court, netball court and handball court all marked out in their independent colour. A full size 5-a-side football pitch is marked out which comes with 2 5-a-side goals.

The sports hall also boasts two indoor cricket nets which come with two full size roll down heavy duty indoor mats ideal for indoor training.

The sports hall can also be used for fitness classes, martial arts groups and gymnastic & dance classes.

Floodlit Astro (muga)

Our floodlit astro is made from a synthetic sand based astro turf ideal for multi-use. It can be hired out as a whole area with markings for a full size football pitch (82m x 52m) with two full size football goals or equally it can be hired out in 1/3’s. Each third is 28m wide x 52m in length. Each third has its own pitch markings and comes with 2 small size football goals.

Primary Hall

This small gymnasium is ideal for hire for dance/fitness classes, martial arts groups and mini/junior sports activities.

Food Technology Room

Our food technology room provides 8 cooking stations alongside an interactive whiteboard and whiteboard to aid delivery of cooking classes. There is a purpose built demonstration area which makes this room ideal for cookery classes for all abilities.

Climbing Wall

Maplefields Academy climbing facility was built by Entre-Prises circa 2012. The wall is 7.5m high and covers approximately 70m2 of climbing surface comprising bolt on holds to purpose built wooden grip treated structure. The wall is secure and isolated from the rest of the school and has eight ’top rope’ lines with leading facility.

Restrictions: Please note this facility can only be hired by groups/classes who are being led by a qualified instructor. On request of hire the user group would have to provide all relevant qualification paperwork in advance of their booking being approved.

Light Sensory Room

This recently refurbished facility offers an ideal space for therapeutic and relaxation sessions. The room is an immersive room featuring three interactive projected walls. The room also includes RGB mood lighting, bubble tube and bubble wall, infinity panel and fibre optic strands. All of the hardware is controlled via an iPad interface. The room can be set up as a relaxing quiet space with soft lighting and sounds. The room can also be used as an interactive space with music and effects.

Bistro Area

This room is ideal space for hire when activities are being run within the sports hall or the astro as it offers a break out room for groups to take lunch. The room comes with a number of tables and chairs and has been used in the past for children’s party’s.

Restrictions: Please note approval of booking this facility will depend on numbers of attendee’s being provided prior to the hire of the room.

Conference Rooms

This facility has a main meeting room which seats up to 14 around a conference table and includes wifi, interactive projector and whiteboard. The area also has two smaller breakout rooms and a equipped kitchen area.
