The money is still being counted and the photographs are to follow so watch this space-----------

    Primary

Pupils wore something red and brought in £1.00. Some made delicious cakes which were enjoyed by all.

    Secondary

There were a variety of activities taking place for Red Nose Day. These included cake selling, sports activities, films, hot dogs and the auspicious stocks where students for a small fee threw wet sponges at selected staff!!!!

All for a very good cause. Everyone dug deep into their spare change and pocket money. Thank you so much. cheeky

  • Crufts March 2015

    Fri 06 Mar 2015

On Thursday 5th March 2015 a group of primary and secondary students together with staff made the journey to Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham. The students were ambassadors for Bark and Read on the Kennel Club library stand explaining to visitors from all over the world how Danny the Greyhound hears them read in school.

Tony and Danny were on the stand with the students and afterwards everyone had a good opportunity to look at the many stands and dogs on show.

Everyone had a great day and look forward to next year! frown

  • British Values -What are they in our school?

    Sun 01 Mar 2015

Schools have a duty to teach British values including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of other faiths and beliefs. At Maplefields we expect all staff to model and teach these values.

We recognise and celebrate the multi-ethnic and multi-faith nature of our country. Our Equalities policy makes clear our intention to provide the best education we can for all our students regardless of race, faith, gender, age and sexual orientation.

Our assemblies focus on positive values such as honesty, caring and respect.

We have added a document regarding British values under the policy section on the website. Please take a look.
