Ethos & Aims
We strive to motivate pupils who have so far found school a challenge by providing a safe, calm, caring and stimulating learning environment. We work to foster a sense of belonging and to provide the opportunity for all pupils to develop a sense of self-worth, confidence and control over their lives.
Our main aims are:
- To provide a safe environment where children can flourish and have the best outcomes
- To encourage each pupil to succeed and achieve their full potential with the appropriate accreditation, whilst making informed decisions about their future development and learning.
- To follow an Attachment aware and trauma informed approach which supports our pupil’s social and emotional needs through communication and giving high priority to relational interactions.
- To provide opportunities for pupils to follow a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which includes the National Curriculum, whilst meeting the needs of all.
- To provide an environment that celebrates reading by providing opportunities for proficiency in reading, writing and spoken language.
- To help pupils develop respect for themselves and others so that they can become integrated and accepted members of the larger community and are able to form positive and meaningful relationships.
- To promote effective and supportive relationships with parents, carers and all other professionals involved with the pupils in working towards our agreed aims and values.
- The school promotes the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all pupils together with equal opportunities for everyone.
